The “Daily 20” provides 20 minutes of daily physical activity that students can engage in during the school closure. This pilot project was introduced in six HWCDSB schools over the past year and is now accessible to all students and their families.
Over the next four weeks, students can engage in daily fitness videos that incorporate four 5-minute segments of warm up, muscular strength, cardio-work out and a cool-down. Not only does the “Daily 20” fulfill the Ministry’s DPA goal, but it features fun, engaging methods and tools to teach the importance of physical activity and exercise in ways that can measurably improve fitness levels and strengthen academic results.
The “Daily 20” also provides a fun outlet for students who are feeling stressed during these challenging times.
